A Place for a Hunter and His Best Friend

Welcome to Bird Dogs 'n Guns. My name is Paul Stoeffler.

I grew up in Iowa. Hunting pheasants with my father and 2 brothers are some of my fondest memories. Hunting behind my brother’s bird dog I learned the joy of watching a hunting dog do what it was bred to do. I still yearn for those cool fall days knowing hunting season is opening soon.

After High School I started in the Tool & Die trade. As a young adult I was recruited to So. California by an aerospace company. I began shooting Trap and Skeet. This prompted me to enhance some of my own shotguns. My machining background helps make it possible to fabricate items for my hobbies.

In “1995” I got my first bird dog, a German Shorthaired Pointer. I loved training and working with that dog. Soon after that my wife got a Vizsla. Bird Dogs became a big part of our life. We enjoy hunting, field trials and hunt tests.

As we inch closer to retirement it all seemed to come together, hence the beginning of BIRD DOGS ‘n GUNS. Everything I make and sell on this web site is a result of a need I have seen in dog training, hunting or target shooting.

Remember when it was MADE IN THE USA. It worked and so did we!
